The Southern Slopes of Olivet and the Mountains of Moab Published in Picturesque Palestine, about 1870.

This view is similar to today's view from the roof of the Petra Hotel, which is a short distance inside the Jaffa Gate, on the left side of David Street, the narrow street shown in the lower left of the drawing. The view is across the rooftops of the Old City. The Armenian Quarter is to the immediate right. The Jewish Quarter is in the upper right; the large domed building is the Hurva Synagogue.
